Love is not a fight...but it's certainly worth fighting for

Love is Not a Fight by Warren Barfield

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
Then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

To some, love is a word
That they can fall into
But when they're falling out
Keeping that word is hard to do

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
But demand we give our all

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

I will fight for you
Would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for

Stained Glass Masquerade

All of us seem to act like we've got it all together.
But rarely, is that ever true.
But we won't admit we're wrong...we won't ever try to change it.
We're just content to coast through life like everything is ok.
Our relationships aren't deep.
Our friendships are never sharpening.
We're just kinda...there.
We just kinda float.
And we never really care.

Stained Glass Masquerade by Casting Crowns

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small

Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they’ll soon discover
That I don’t belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything’s okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I’ll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the part again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

*Chorus*
Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who’s been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who’s traded
In the altar for a stage

The performance is CONVINCING
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

Chorus x2

Well if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone that fails?
Is there anyone that falls?
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small?

Hard things and right things.

If something is right, we MUST do it, no matter how hard it may seem, no matter what obstacles are in our path, and no matter how blind the leap of faith may be. There's no way around truth, there's no way around the right thing, we must do it, no matter what.

Rock The Light - Friday

Random Lines

---

When Love is the raging sea
You can hold on to me
We'll find a way tonight
Love is an ocean wide

Enough to forget...even when we think we can't.
Love is an ocean wide.

---

Maybe a greater thing will happen
Maybe all will see
Maybe our love will catch like fire

---

How many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

---

Lead me to the Cross, where Your love poured out.
Lead me to Your heart...to Your heart.

---

It's everything You've promised
There's no greater love than this
From prophets until today
A man laying down His life for His friends
Your sacrifice has spoken, You gave everything
And “I love you” could not be said
A better way

---

I know it might not look that way
But You’re gonna live to fight another day

There’s a place I know
Outside of town
Let’s get out of here
Where all our fears don’t hang around

Here’s another chance
Take it while you can
Cause it sure wont last
Moves so fast
And it’s gone again

---

Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing

---

Can you feel the call of love?
Is it moving you to be a child of God of love?
Is it reaching you?
It's everywhere the call of love.

I just want to show you what I mean
I just want to love like you've never seen
Do you want to live like you used to dream?
Then I've got a song for you

Cuz I am gonna show you what I mean
I am gonna' love like you've never seen
You are gonna live like you used to dream
This is your new song

---

Cover me with a red sky tonight. The promise of a better day to come.

All you need is a sunrise.

We all go through storms, and all of our storms are unique.
Sometimes God decides to rescue us from those storms, and sometimes He decides to go with us through the storm. But no matter which way He chooses, He will never leave or abandon us. And we are to praise Him in the midst of every storm He brings us.

So often the giants call and shout out our names and remind us of all the times we have fallen. The giants say we can't do it, we can't go on, we can't overcome. And in the moments of wanting to quit so badly, God says no. Keep fighting. I tell you a different story. The Voice of Truth says do not be afraid...I will get you through it.

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away.
Walks...Stands...Sits...Psalm 1...
People NEVER crumble in a day.

You're part of a body, not an audience.

You can come tragically close to the well, and go away thirsty. You can know everything about God, and go to Church, and read your Bible, and go to concerts, and never drink the living water of Jesus.

It doesn't bother the world that we sin, it bothers them that we act like we don't sin.

Maybe it's time to throw of all the superficial, and live transparently?

A good song always poses good questions.
And all good conversation requires the same.

"If all I had was one last chance, I would take it, and I would stake it all on You."

What you pour into your life will eventually come out.

"Your love is extravagent, Your friendship it is intimate."

"What if the Church, for heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took a stand upon God's promise
And stormed hell's rusty gates?

Chorus I:
What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His faith, yeah
And turn from their old ways?

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way?
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day

What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do?"

---

Everything, in the end, comes down to Jesus. It's all about Jesus, and it's all about love.

--

And there it is...everything, all right in front of you.
We know what to do, we know the it will be hard, but we know God would provide and lead if we would but DO what He says.
We know what to do, but why don't we do it?
Why are our priorities always so out of whack?

It is really quite interesting that in a day and age where MILLIONS are spent on Christian music, many know next to nothing about correct doctrine or even how to share the Gospel, and even less know how to live out the Christian life.
We're told in songs to love people like Jesus, but do we do that?
We ask for the eyes of Jesus, so we can see everything we keep missing, but do we really really deep-down want that? Do we really want our lives to be altered that much? Or, do we just want to stay safe?
So often, I want to stay safe and secure in my own little bubble.

The words that we sing, do we sing them because we mean them? Or, do we sing them because of the sweet beat or the fact that everyone else is singing? Oh, everyone else is singing, I better sing. haha. Well, what if everyone is singing just because everyone else is, and everyone just wants to fit in? Then, everyone is fake, and that is what alot of Christianity is today in America.
It's fake and plasticy, and not relational and vibrant.

Music gets old, and stories change.
Everything is fine here at this place. Everything is fine at the alter.
But when the music is over, and we leave this place, it's only you and Jesus.
And He wants an intimate relationship, He wants us to radically give over every part of our lives to Him, and for us to give ourselves fully to Him. He wants us, and He wants all of us, forever and ever.
And He gave everything for us, and He romanced a broken world because He wanted you and He wanted me. He gave everything, and I love you could not be said a better way.
